For this level, SPACE takes center stage. Both outer space (as in planets and stars) and near space (as in the space in the region just about your body) get fully detailed. Outer space represents a huge topic so here we cover the first stage, a region called the Local Interstellar Cloud (LIC, for short). As will become apparent in future levels, each region represents a level of energetic coherence (like a laser that can be tuned finer and finer). The LIC catches all phenomena related to the physical plane (everyday life) and lower part of the etheric plane (qi, prana, and other forms such as bioelectricity and biophotons).

This level of Neidan Yoga takes the qi work from preceding stages up a notch. Earlier pages introduced the idea of practicing hatha yoga and other techniques (qigong, breathwork, meditation) while imagining you are part of a class. In fact, part of a crowded classroom, so that you are surrounded by your classmates. The goal? Cultivate awareness of the space around you in all directions, including above and below your physical form. This constitutes an essential skill needed in Daoist yoga to begin the monumental process of pulling qi (energy) into the midline (central channel, sushumna). One cannot possibly advance with internal alchemy (neidan) or any other midline practice (tummo, kundalini, deep energetic medicine) unless these basic skills are onboard and switched on.
